It all started back in 1972 when Richard and Carol Woolstrum, along with their three children, made a decision to open their home to kids like Michael. Sixty or more boys came through that home on long term placement. You can map where those boys are today. Those boys have since gone on to impact others because of the foundation that was laid at Century Youth Ranch.
Michael Zarkas, now Michael Woolstrum, was the first foster boy of Century Youth Ranch back in 1972 when Richard and Carol Woolstrum gave their property to the first Assemblies of God church in Lodi. Through the maturation and evolution of this ministry, Century Charities is in multiple states and impacts kids in Mexico, Thailand, and various places all around the world, all because of the gift and the seed that was planted by Richard and Carol Woolstrum. So who would have thought that when Richard and Carol Woolstrum donated their property to the church that a 7 yr. old boy named Michael Zarkas would come? They didn’t connect the dots back then, but today, Century Charities reaches across several states and multiple countries. Even though it started with just a few boys, it now impacts thousands upon thousands around the world.
